  At the end of the course, the student must must be able to:

a. Place a period after the end of a declarative and imperative sentence.
b. Place a question mark after the end of an interrogative sentence.
c. Place an exclamation point after the end of an exclamatory sentence.
d. Use a serial comma after every item in a series.
e. Use the apostrophe for possessive forms correctly.
f. Use quotation marks to enclose spoken dialogue correctly.
 Junior Lower Intermediate
  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
3. Follow simple and common punctuation rules.
a. Spell simple and commonly used words correctly.
b. Use simple and common words in an essay appropriately.
 
 Junior Upper Intermediate Level
  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Use the articles "a", "an", and "the" correctly.
2. Use prepositions correctly to show relationship between a word and its object.
a. Use prepositions of place correctly.
b. Use prepositions of time correctly
c. Use prepositional phrases correctly.
 
 Junior Lower Advance
  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Use simple and common conjunctions correctly.
a. Use coordinating conjunctions correctly.
b. Use subordinating conjunctions correctly.
c. Use correlative conjunctions correctly.
d. Use conjunctive adverbs correctly.
 Junior Upper Advance
  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Write an essay with consistent pronoun case.
a. Use pronouns correctly according to their antecedents.
 
b. Write an essay with a consistent perspective or point of view.
2. Write an essay with correct subject-verb agreement.
