  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Understand different relationships among ideas:
  a. Comparison
b. Contrast

2. Relate information heard in English to a student’s previously-known information.

 Senior Lower Intermediate
At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Understand the most important points of spoken material.
2. Categorize details into varying levels of importance.
 Senior Upper Intermediate

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1. Speak with a sufficient number of ideas.
2. Sufficiently elaborate or simplify ideas.
 Senior Lower Advanced
At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Use interjections correctly.
2. Use common idioms correctly.
 Senior Upper Advanced
  At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
1. Speak with correct pronunciation and intonation.
2. Spontaneously respond and reply correctly.
